Loss of lordosis

The possibility to correlate clinical outcome with alignment of the spinal column seems appealing but is, however, not as easily translatable into practice as it might seem. Boden et al., in their landmark papers at the beginning of the 1990s on the correlation between imaging findings on spinal MRIs and clinical status, showed us how important it is to treat the patient and not the images ^{1) 2)}.
