T cell receptor

T cells require two signals to become fully activated.

The first signal comes through their antigen receptor which is antigen-specific, is provided through the T cell receptor (TCR), and the second signal comes through CD28 and is typically provided by antigen-presenting cells (APC): monocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells, or B cells.
