The Starfix® platform is a new type of stereotactic frame that allows an individualized and patient-optimized therapeutic regimen in idiopathic Parkinson's disease (IPD).

The individualized Starfix® miniframe belongs to a new generation of stereotactic systems enabling high-precision electrode placement with considerably better time-efficiency in deep brain stimulation (DBS).

It allows an individualized and patient-optimized therapeutic regimen in idiopathic Parkinson's disease (IPD).

Individualized miniframes such as the Starfix® miniframe allow implantation of DBS electrodes in IPD that is equally effective as conventional systems. The time efficiency achieved in surgery using of the Starfix® system helps to minimize patients' discomfort during DBS surgery 1).

In 29 patients it was reliable and safe for the placement of stimulating electrodes as well as the stimulation effect 2).
