Standard treatment

Standard treatment refers to the usual or most commonly accepted methods for treating a specific condition or disease. Example:

Some studies have shown that Interferon-alfa can slow the growth of high-grade gliomas and improve survival in some patients. However, the effectiveness of Interferon-alfa as a treatment for high-grade gliomas is still being studied, and it is not currently a standard treatment for these tumors.

Standard treatment for patients with newly diagnosed glioblastoma includes surgery, radiotherapy (RT) and temozolomide (TMZ) chemotherapy (TMZ/RT→TMZ).
