SPONGOSTAN™ Absorbable Haemostatic Gelatin Sponge is a sterile, water-insoluble, malleable, porcine gelatin absorbable sponge intended for haemostatic use by applying to a bleeding surface. The sponge is off-white and porous in appearance.

SPONGOSTAN™ Sponge, used dry or saturated with sterile saline solution, is indicated for surgical procedures (except ophthalmic) for haemostasis, when control of capillary, venous and arteriolar bleeding by pressure, ligature and other conventional procedures is ineffective or impractical.

Although not necessary, SPONGOSTAN™ Sponge can be used with thrombin* to achieve haemostasis.

POWDER SPONGOSTAN™ Absorbable Haemostatic Gelatin Powder is a sterile, water-insoluble, porcine gelatin absorbable powder intended for haemostatic use by applying to a bleeding surface. The powder is off-white in appearance.

SPONGOSTAN™ Powder, saturated with sterile saline solution, is indicated for surgical procedures (except ophthalmic) for haemostasis, when control of capillary, venous and arteriolar bleeding by pressure, ligature and other conventional procedures is ineffective or impractical.

Although not necessary, SPONGOSTAN™ Powder can be used with thrombin* to achieve haemostasis. When mixed with liquid the SPONGOSTAN™ Powder forms easily into a paste, ball or roll. The product conforms to irregular surfaces. SPONGOSTAN™ Powder is supplied in a sterile mixing container that makes mixing easy and fast.
