The protective role of a factor refers to its ability to reduce the risk of a negative outcome, prevent harm, or mitigate damage.

🔍 Characteristics of a Protective Role:
It lowers the chance of something bad happening.
It can act before (preventive) or during (mitigating) a harmful process.
It is often compared to a control group or situation without the protective factor.
