PICO question

A PICO question is a structured clinical question used in evidence-based medicine to guide literature searches and decision-making. Here's what PICO stands for:

P – Patient, Population, or Problem: Who is the patient or what is the condition?

I – Intervention: What is the main treatment or diagnostic test being considered?

C – Comparison: What is the alternative to compare with the intervention? (optional)

O – Outcome: What are the relevant outcomes (e.g., survival, symptom relief, accuracy)?

Example PICO question: Clinical Question: In adults with glioblastoma, does bevacizumab compared to temozolomide improve overall survival?

PICO breakdown:

P: Adults with glioblastoma

I: Bevacizumab

C: Temozolomide

O: Overall survival
