Osteolytic Lesion A “punched-out” area of severe bone loss. Osteolytic bone lesions are seen in metastatic lung and breast cancer and multiple myeloma and may cause bone pain, pathologic fractures (bones broken by disease), and hypercalcemia (high blood calcium).
