Intraneural hemangioma: A rare cause of intermittent carpal tunnel syndrome 1).

Intraneural hemangioma of the ulnar nerve 2).

A 14-year-old girl who had a soft tissue mass in the region of the left wrist with signs and symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome. Total removal of the mass was achieved using microsurgical epineural and interfasicular dissection. The symptoms were relieved completely, after this procedure, without any neurologic deficit. On follow-up two years later, no recurrence was observed. Whenever a child or young adult patient presents with CTS the possibility of a hemangioma involving the median nerve should be kept in mind in the differential diagnosis 3).

2013

Intraneural capillary hemangioma: a rare cause of proximal median neuropathy 4).

Intraneural Hemangioma of the digital nerve is rare and so far three cases have been reported in the literature. A case of 12- year- old boy with painless soft tissue mass in the right hand and numbness on the radial aspect of the index finger. Magnetic Resonance Imaging showed an isointense subcutaneous lesion without discrete borders in the first web space classically of hemangioma with the radial digital nerve extension. On exploration, the intraneural extension of the hemangioma was confirmed and total resection, microsurgical primary digital nerve repair was done. The patient became better and at 6 months follow up the index finger sensation improved. The patient had no reccurence and he is still under follow up 5).

2010

Unusual anterolateral thigh donor-site complications: intraneural hemangioma and traumatic neuroma 6).

A 47-year-old man with multilevel ulnar neuropathy caused by multiple intraneural hemangiomas in an ipsilateral ulnar nerve. Multilevel ulnar neuropathy was detected by electrodiagnosis, and intraneural hemangiomas were suggested by ultrasonographic evaluation before the operation. Careful surgical excision under an operating microscope ameliorated the patient's symptoms without recurrence 7).

2009

Intraneural hemangioma of the median nerve: report of a case 8).

2007

A girl with a painful swelling in the fourth web space of her right hand. Since it was painful, the referring clinician considered the possibility of a glomus tumor. However, demonstration of dilated feeding or draining vessels suggested the diagnosis of hemangioma. At surgery a hemangioma of the ulnar digital nerve of the ring finger was resected marginally 9).

1980

A patient with an intraneural hemangioma of the superficial peroneal nerve underwent successful resection, without sacrifice of nerve function, with the aid of the operating microscope 10).
