In October 2015 during the meeting in Madrid, the EANS and UEMS Section of Neurosurgery decided to form the European Board of Neurological Surgery (EBNS) and transform the existing exam into the European Board Examination in Neurological Surgery to further increase its importance and general recognition. The successful candidates of both parts I and II will be appointed as Fellow of European Board of Neurological Surgery (FEBNS).
The European Board of Neurological Surgery (formerly the Joint Examination Committee of the EANS and UEMS), is responsible for running both Part I (written) and Part II (oral) of the European Board Examination in Neurological Surgery.
The Chair of the European Board of Neurological Surgery in 2016 is Peter Whitfield (UK).

Recruitment of examiners to the Examination Board for the Fellowship of the European Board of Neurological Surgery
The Examination Board for the Fellowship of the European Board of Neurological Surgery is currently recruiting examiners.
The requirements are an enthusiasm for training and examining, commitment to examining (between 4 and 8 days per year), being in active clinical practice in Europe, having completed at least 5 years clinical work following completion of training, not having any personal licensing sanctions or restriction of practice orders in place, and a good command of English (listening and spoken).
If you wish to express an interest in joining the Examination Board please write a short paragraph (200 words) explaining why you would like to join, highlighting your key reasons for applying. A one page précis CV including your key areas of clinical work, experience as a trainer and any previous experience as an examiner should be included.
