Endothelialization

Endothelialization of the aneurysm neck or stenotic lesion after stent deployment plays a pivotal role in preventing aneurysm recurrence, as well as local thrombus formation and restenosis.

Plavix is prescribed for at least 6 weeks following stent placement to allow for endothelialization of the stent.
