Descriptive study

A study in which the researcher simply describes a population or phenomenon without making any predictions or testing any hypotheses.

A statistical study to identify patterns or trends in a situation, but not the causal linkages among its different elements.

A case series is a descriptive study located at the base of the evidence pyramid.
