Delusion

A delusion is a belief or idea that is not based in reality and is often contradicted by evidence or logic. Delusions are a symptom of various mental illnesses, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depressive disorder.

Delusions can take many forms and can involve a range of beliefs. For example, a person with delusions may believe that they have special powers or abilities, that they are being persecuted or spied on, that they are receiving messages from a higher power, or that their thoughts are being broadcasted to others.

Delusions can be difficult to treat because they are often deeply ingrained beliefs and are resistant to evidence or rational argument. However, antipsychotic medications and other treatments can help manage the symptoms of delusional thinking and improve overall mental health.

It is important to note that delusions are a symptom of mental illness and are not the same as religious or cultural beliefs that are not based in scientific evidence.
