Degenerative cervical myelopathy etiology
Degenerative cervical myelopathy, arises when degenerative changes in the surrounding cervical spinal structures exert mechanical stress on the spinal cord and trigger a progressive injury 1).
Such degenerative changes include cervical disc herniation, anterior cervical osteophyte, hypertrophy of the posterior longitudinal ligament, or ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament and produce cervical spinal stenosis 2).
