Cribriform plate
The cribriform plate of the ethmoid bone (horizontal lamina) is received into the ethmoidal notch of the frontal bone and roofs in the nasal cavities.
Lesions that involve the cribriform plate include olfactory groove meningioma, esthesioneuroblastoma, adenocarcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, sinonasal undifferentiated carcinoma, mucosal melanoma and many others.
Planum sphenoidale meningiomas are anterior cranial fossa meningiomas, overlying the area of the cribriform plate of the ethmoid bone, sphenofrontal suture, and planum sphenoidale.
