Co-management arrangements can be a very effective means of aligning physicians and their hospitals to gain care delivery efficiencies, control costs, and reduce variation in practices. In an era of value-based care delivery all aspects must be examined and the appropriate incentives put in place to reduce waste and optimize asset and resource utilization. This article will review legal considerations, define basic co-management structure and goals, and suggest examples of metrics used to achieve success 1).
