Dr. Alvaro Campero is a Neurosurgeon based in Tucumán, Argentina. Currently, he serves as the Chief of the Neurosurgery Department at Hospital Padilla in Tucumán and as a Full Professor of Neurology at the Faculty of Medicine of the National University of Tucumán.
He completed his neurosurgery training at the Hospital de Clínicas of the University of Buenos Aires. Subsequently, he pursued a fellowship in Neuroanatomy in Gainesville, United States, at the Brain Institute under the supervision of Prof. Albert Rhoton. Additionally, he underwent training in Microsurgery in São Paulo, Brazil, at the Hospital Beneficencia Portuguesa, and in Skull Base Surgery in Tubingen, Germany, at the Neurochirurgie Uniklinik Tubingen.
His primary area of interest is Skull Base Surgery, making him a reference in Latin America. He is actively involved in academic pursuits, regularly giving courses and international conferences. He is a member of the Neurosurgical Anatomy Committee of the WFNS (World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies).
Dr. Campero has authored numerous national and international scientific publications, with over 100 papers published in PubMed. Furthermore, he has written books and chapters in the field and serves as a reviewer for various international scientific journals related to Neurosurgery.
