The chronic subdural hematoma was originally termed “pachymeningitis hemorrhagica interna” by Rudolf Ludwig Karl Virchow in 1857 1).


Pituitary metastases (PM) is a rare complication of advanced malignancy, first reported by L. Benjamin in 1857 as a case of melanoma spread to the pituitary identified in an autopsy 2) and later in 1913, Harvey Williams Cushing 3)
