Orbital cellulitis is inflammation of eye tissues behind the orbital septum. It is most commonly caused by an acute spread of infection into the eye socket from either the adjacent sinuses or through the blood.
Extensive and diffuse occupation of frontal sinuses, ethmoidal air cells, and maxillary sinuses, as well as areas of bilateral preseptal cellulitis in the lower eyelids, related to cellulitis extending through the craniotomy into the sinuses and causing bilateral frontal sinusitis, ethmoidal sinusitis, and maxillary sinusitis.
