Located immediately adjacent to the full length of the corpus callosum; contains portions of pericallosal artery
Synonym(s): cisterna pericallosa [TA]
Rupture of pericallosal artery aneurysm in 12 patients gave rise to blood in the pericallosal cistern, anterior interhemispheric fissure and cistern of the lamina terminalis in 11 1).
