The surgical procedure use a transcallosal approach is direct and provides good surgical field exposure and fewer post operational complications. This approach should be considered as the method of choice for surgical removal of the third ventricle tumors 1).

Tumor resection combined with third ventriculostomy has significant advantages in this approach 2).

It appears to be a safe route for pineal region tumors in children, and complete resection can be achieved in the majority of patients 3).
