Differential pressure valve

There are two types of differential pressure valves:

    Adjustable differential pressure valve

    Fixed differential pressure valve

Fixed pressure valves have been used successfully for years, but necessitate shunt revision when the patient’s pressure/flow requirements change.

With adjustable pressure valves, the pressure/flow performance level setting can be changed after implantation, potentially avoiding the cost and trauma of shunt revision surgery.
