Sellar tumor

see Pituitary tumor

Intrasellar tumors are confined to the sella turcica, where the pituitary gland is located.

Suprasellar tumors: These tumors extend above the sella turcica and may involve structures like the optic chiasm, hypothalamus, or third ventricle.

Infrasellar tumors: These tumors extend downward from the sella turcica into the sphenoid sinus.

Parasellar tumors: These tumors extend sideways from the pituitary gland, potentially affecting the cavernous sinus or other nearby structures.
