Clinically Nonfunctioning pituitary neuroendocrine tumor epidemiology

Nonfunctioning pituitary neuroendocrine tumors are the most common pituitary tumors 1), and the most common pituitary neuroendocrine tumors in adults.

They are the most prevalent pituitary macroadenomas 2) 3).

With a prevalence of 7-22/100,000 people, and constitute over one-third of all pituitary neuroendocrine tumors 4) 5) 6).

Despite being the most frequent pituitary tumors, NFPAs are the least studied 7).

Clinically, about 80% of all pituitary macroadenomas are nonfunctioning macroadenomas 8) 9) 10) 11). which will relatively grow in 50% cases 12) 13).
