Bilateral thalamic glioma

see also Bilateral Thalamic Pilocytic Astrocytoma.

Bilateral thalamic glioma are rare tumors.

Though they are benign in nature but their outcome is poor in comparison to unilateral thalamic glioma. They grow slowly and present with huge size involving nuclei of thalamus. Surgery had a limited role like biopsy, management of hydrocephalus and decompression if there is significant mass effect. Radiotherapy also is not much effective.
