  * Communicating or non-communicating hydrocephalus  
  * Normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH)  
  * Post-hemorrhagic hydrocephalus  
  * Post-infectious hydrocephalus  
  * Congenital causes (e.g., aqueductal stenosis, Dandy-Walker)  
  * Neoplastic or structural CSF flow obstruction
