====== Uremic neuropathy ======

This occurs in [[chronic renal failure]]. Early symptoms include calf cramps (“Charlie horses”), dysesthesia in feet (similar to painful [[diabetic neuropathy]]) and “[[restless legs]].” [[Achilles reflex]]es are lost. A stocking sensory loss is followed later by LE [[weakness]] that starts distally and ascends. The offending [[toxin]] is not known. [[Dialysis]] or renal transplantation relieves the symptoms.
