====== Treatment efficacy ====== Treatment [[efficacy]] refers to the extent to which a [[medical treatment]] or intervention produces the desired effect in a clinical setting, typically measured through controlled trials or studies. It evaluates how well a treatment works under ideal or controlled conditions, such as in a research study where factors influencing outcomes are tightly controlled. Efficacy is different from effectiveness, which refers to how well a treatment works in real-world, everyday clinical practice. In clinical research, efficacy is typically measured by comparing outcomes in a group of patients receiving the treatment versus a control group (often receiving a placebo or no treatment). The results are then analyzed statistically to determine if the treatment has a significant effect on the disease or condition being studied.
