Injury description and grading of injury severity are systematically registered.

This provides [[benchmarking]] data for comparisons of [[quality]] of care between patients and institutions and facilitates continuous improvement.

[[Norway]] introduced a national trauma system in 2007 and the national trauma registry (NTR) was established in 2015
