Thalamic [[peduncle]]s, or [[radiation]]s, are a large [[bundle]] of fan-like [[fiber]]s connecting the [[thalamus]] and [[cortex]], and well-described in both human and monkey brains.

Based on the connected [[cortical area]], thalamic peduncles are commonly divided into five components: the anterior, superior, lateral (or extracapsular), posterior, and [[Inferior Thalamic peduncle]].
