Thalamic [[Diffuse astrocytoma]], IDH-mutant (WHO Grade 2) are rare gliomas that arise in the thalamus, 

These tumors belong to the category of diffuse gliomas, which infiltrate surrounding brain tissue and typically exhibit slow growth. However, they carry a significant clinical burden due to their deep location and the challenges in surgical resection.

===== Epidemiology =====

Most commonly seen in children and young adults.

Can also occur in adults but are less frequent compared to cerebral hemispheric gliomas.

No significant sex predilection.
