===== Pathology =====

Most spinal meningiomas are benign, with greater than 95% being classified as [[WHO grade I]] lesions, although [[clear cell meningioma]]s (a [[WHO grade II]] histological variant) have a predilection for the spine.

They are believed to originate from the [[denticulate ligament]]s. 

===== Clinical Features =====

The majority of patients present with [[motor impairment]]s as a result of compression of the [[spinal cord]]. Less common presentations include sensory deficits, pain and sphincter dysfunction.
