[[Maternal serum alpha-fetoprotein]]. ---- Abnormally elevated serum AFP may occur in [[ovarian cancer]], stomach cancer, lung cancer, colon cancer, pancreas cancer, as well as in [[cirrhosis]] or [[hepatitis]] and in the majority of gravid women carrying a fetus with an [[open neural tube defect]]; Serum AFP>500ng/ml usually means primary [[liver tumor]].
