[[Procyanidin]]s are members of the [[proanthocyanidin]] (or condensed tannins) class of [[flavonoid]]s. They are oligomeric compounds, formed from catechin and epicatechin molecules. They yield [[cyanidin]] when depolymerized under oxidative conditions. Oligomeric Proantho Cyanidins provides neuroprotection against early brain injury following subarachnoid hemorrhage possibly via anti-oxidative, anti-inflammatory and anti-apoptotic effects ((Zhang GX, Ma J, Lu HC, Ye ZN, Liu J, Wang CB.
