====== Orbital cellulitis ======

Orbital cellulitis is inflammation of eye tissues behind the orbital septum. It is most commonly caused by an acute spread of infection into the eye socket from either the adjacent sinuses or through the blood.

Extensive and diffuse occupation of [[frontal sinus]]es, [[ethmoidal air cells]], and [[maxillary sinus]]es, as well as areas of bilateral preseptal [[cellulitis]] in the lower [[eyelid]]s, related to cellulitis extending through the [[craniotomy]] into the sinuses and causing bilateral [[frontal sinusitis]], [[ethmoidal sinusitis]], and [[maxillary sinusitis]].
