One of the three branches of the [[trigeminal nerve]].

The ophthalmic nerve carries only sensory fibers.

The [[supraorbital nerve]] and [[supratrochlear nerve]]s arise from the [[frontal nerve]] and are 2 of the 5 branches of [[V1]] (ophthalmic division of the [[trigeminal nerve]]).
