Emerging as a new sub-specialization within the hospitalist community, the neurosurgery hospitalist provides [[preoperative]] [[risk stratification]], advises on managing pre- and postoperative [[complication]]s, and helps doctors make [[decision]]s about when to involve specialists other than neurosurgeons.
