====== Lordosis ====== When abnormalities of the [[spine]] occur, the natural [[curvature]]s of the spine are misaligned or exaggerated in certain areas, as occurs with lordosis, [[kyphosis]]. The lordotic nature of the [[cervical spine]] and [[lumbar spine]] allows the imaginary line of gravity to run through, allowing them to bear most of the weight of the of the axial skeleton as compared to the [[thoracic spine]] and [[sacral spine]]. Consequently, they are subject to a higher percentage of [[disc degeneration]] and subsequent [[discogenic pain]] syndrome ((Fogwe DT, Mesfin FB. Pain, Thoracic, Discogenic Syndrome. 2017 Nov 8.
