[[Kariem Mahdy Ali]], born 1983 in [[Vienna]], [[Austria]], graduated from the Medical University of Vienna in 2008. After working in basic research at the Department of Cardiology he started his residency at the Department of Neurosurgery [[Graz]] in 2011 where he discovered his interest in vascular and oncologic pathologies of the brain.

His main research topics include the studies on [[functional neuroanatomy]] of the brain,  cerebral networks and cerebrovascular pathologies.
