====== Epidermal growth factor receptor ====== The [[epidermal growth factor]] [[receptor]] is a member of the [[ErbB]] family of [[receptor]]s, a subfamily of four closely related receptor [[tyrosine kinase]]s: EGFR (ErbB-1), HER2/c-neu (ErbB-2), Her 3 (ErbB-3) and Her 4 (ErbB-4). ---- EGFR is found on the surface of some normal [[cell]]s and is involved in [[cell growth]]. It may also be found at high levels on some types of [[cancer cell]]s, which causes these cells to grow and divide. Blocking [[EGFR]] may keep cancer cells from growing. Some [[epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor]]s are used to treat cancer. Also called [[EGFR inhibitor]], EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor, and epidermal growth factor receptor inhibitor. ---- [[Preoperative]] [[assessment]] of [[epidermal growth factor receptor]] ([[EGFR]]) status, response to EGFR-tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKI), and development of [[T790M]] mutation in [[non-small cell lung cancer]] (NSCLC) patients with [[brain metastases]] (BM) is essential for clinical decision-making, while previous studies were only based on the whole BM ---- ===== Epidermal growth factor receptor 3 ===== [[Epidermal growth factor receptor 3]]. ===== Epidermal growth factor receptor mutation ===== see [[Epidermal growth factor receptor mutation]]. ===== Epidermal growth factor receptor in glioblastoma ===== [[Epidermal growth factor receptor in glioblastoma]].
