Endothelialization of the [[aneurysm neck]] or stenotic lesion after stent deployment plays a pivotal role in preventing aneurysm recurrence, as well as local thrombus formation and restenosis.

[[Plavix]] is prescribed for at least 6 weeks following [[stent]] placement to allow for endothelialization of the [[stent]].
