====== Dexamethasone ======



Two commonly used [[corticosteroid]]s are [[prednisone]] and [[prednisolone]]. Both are usually given as oral tablets. Prednisone is converted into prednisolone in the liver so that the effect of the two drugs is usually the same. Another corticosteroid, called [[dexamethasone]], is more potent and is used in smaller doses.

Dexamethasone has comparatively low [[mineralocorticoid]] properties and high [[glucocorticoid]] potency

In the early 1960s, Galichich and colleagues published their experience with dexamethasone in brain tumor patients
