Crowned [[dens]] [[syndrome]] is a rare presentation of calcium pyrophosphate deposition disease. It is characterised by severe [[neck pain]] and [[neck stiffness]]. Acute presentations are typically accompanied by [[fever]] and an inflammatory response and hence can be misdiagnosed as polymyalgia rheumatica or [[meningitis]].
