The cribriform plate of the [[ethmoid bone]] (horizontal lamina) is received into the ethmoidal notch of the [[frontal bone]] and roofs in the nasal cavities.



Lesions that involve the cribriform plate include [[olfactory groove meningioma]], [[esthesioneuroblastoma]], adenocarcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, sinonasal undifferentiated carcinoma, mucosal melanoma and many others.

[[Planum sphenoidale]] [[meningioma]]s are [[anterior cranial fossa meningioma]]s, overlying the area of the [[cribriform plate]] of the [[ethmoid bone]], [[sphenofrontal suture]], and [[planum sphenoidale]].
