Neurological conditions account for approximately 18% of all medical emergencies. These include a high burden of neurological [[disease]]s, poor pre-hospital [[care]], delays in [[transfer]], lack of neurocritical care [[equipment]], and inadequate rehabilitative [[capacity]].
