The process by which new [[artery]] and [[vein]]s form from preexisting [[blood vessel]]s. Angiogenesis proceeds through sprouting, endothelial cell migration, proliferation, and vessel destabilization and stabilization. They are responsible for assembling and disassembling the endothelial lining of blood vessels.
