Loss or impairment of voluntary activity (as of a muscle)


The [[syndrome]] of the [[supplementary motor area]] (SMA) , characterised by contralateral [[akinesia]] and [[mutism]], is not well recognized and its features can easily be confused with pyramidal weakness.
