Placement of intracranial [[strip]] and [[grid]] [[electrode]]s for recording cortical [[electrocorticography]] (ECOG) has become an important component in the workup of patients who are considered for resective epilepsy surgery. Foerster and Altenburger reported the first use of this form of invasive monitoring in [[1935]]
