The word “[[endoscopy]]” was used first by [[Antonin Jean Desormeaux]] (1815–1894), a urologist from [[Paris]]

It is [[Philipp Bozzini]] (1773–1809), however, a German physician born to an aristocratic Italian family, who is credited with the invention of the first [[endoscope]] 200 years ago.
