En una publicación no fue capaz de erradicar la E. coli o SARM, y aunque mostró actividad frente a S. epidermidis en un ensayo, no fue incapaz de prevenir la colonización in vitro en condiciones de flujo. Esto es consistente con estudios clínicos sobre catéteres impregnados de plata (Bayston y col., 2010).
